1. Signal intake
We monitor multiple source classes so that one noisy platform cannot define the editorial agenda. Inputs can include search movement, storefront and player-count changes, first-party announcements, public release calendars, and community or video attention.
A spike is treated as a candidate, not proof. Search volume, repost counts, or video velocity may reflect confusion, controversy, or a one-off event rather than a durable information need.
2. Intent and value gate
We ask what the player is trying to accomplish and whether a dedicated page is the clearest answer. Keyword variations that resolve to the same task belong on one canonical page.
- Clear task: the query implies a specific decision, answer, or next step.
- Evidence: reliable sources can support the material claims.
- Original value: we can verify, compare, organize, calculate, or explain—not merely rewrite.
- Maintenance: the page has an owner, verification date, and update trigger.
3. Source hierarchy
For factual claims, first-party evidence has priority: publisher announcements, support pages, platform status systems, storefront records, filings, and official documentation. Credible specialist reporting can add context. Community posts are useful for discovery or reproducible observations, but do not become confirmed facts by repetition.
When sources conflict, we state the conflict, prefer the source closest to the underlying event, and avoid false precision until the record is clear.
4. Opportunity scoring
Candidates are compared across five dimensions: trend strength, clarity of search intent, long-tail depth, realistic competition, and reader or business value. Editorial risk and freshness cost can reduce the final priority.
The score is a planning tool, not a claim about popularity or quality. Editors can override it when public value or verification risk makes the numerical result misleading.
5. Publishing and maintenance
Published pages include a concise answer, supporting context, source links, related tasks, and a visible verification date when freshness matters. Confirmed and monitored states use different language and visual labels.
Material changes trigger a recheck. Expired codes, completed betas, moved release dates, and resolved incidents are updated in place when the underlying intent remains the same, preserving a stable canonical URL.
Limits of the radar
Public trend systems are sampled, localized, and sometimes delayed. Social attention can be manipulated. Storefront metadata can change without notice. We therefore avoid presenting an internal opportunity score as an objective measurement of the gaming market.
