Who can join the Xbox PTS
You need an Xbox Series X or Series S, the Xbox Insider Hub app, and access to Fallout 76 through ownership or an active Game Pass subscription. Registration happens inside Xbox Insider Hub, not through an emailed code or third-party download. After joining the preview, the Hub sends you to the Store for the separate Fallout 76 Public Test Server installation.

These are test targets, not a promise that unfinished PTS behavior will match the final live update.

The PTS starts from a snapshot of your live character and inventory, but PTS progression does not move back to the live game and does not persist into later test cycles. The Atomic Shop and seasonal content are inactive. Xbox also says PTS content is English-only because much of the unfinished material is not translated yet.
