What launches with Red Horizon

The August 27 season update brings Cleaners activity into Washington, D.C., a new modifier set, new weapons and gear, Dark Zone rules, quality-of-life fixes, and the District Mall Inferno Classified Assignment. The second assignment, Georgetown Dead Zone, is scheduled for October 15 rather than launch day.

How the Pressure Gauge works

Original pressure-vessel illustration branching into defense, precision, and skill-energy benefits

Combat actions build a shared Pressure Gauge that strengthens bonuses and powers one of three Active Modifiers. Passive Modifiers can change how quickly pressure builds or replace its default Status Effects bonus with Signature Weapon Damage or Hazard Protection. The gauge resets when the chosen Active Modifier ends.

Toxic and Blackout Dark Zones

Toxic remains as a permanent PvE Dark Zone with adjusted toxicity and contaminated-cache rewards. Blackout joins the rotation as a non-normalized PvEvP variant that keeps SHD Watch and Expertise power active. Ubisoft says one PvE and two PvP Dark Zones will be available at a time, with Blackout and Classic alternating.

Free track, Season Pass, and bundles

The free track contains gear, named items, caches, cosmetics, and the Fafnir Exotic weapon. The optional Premium Season Pass costs 1,000 Premium Credits, shown by Ubisoft as $9.99 US or the regional equivalent. Ubisoft also lists a $29.99 Red Horizon Bundle and a $49.99 Supply Drop; these are optional purchases, not requirements to receive the season update.
