Patch 2.00.00 was available on Steam for PC and Mac, PlayStation, Xbox, and Epic Games Store when checked. Pearl Abyss listed the Mac App Store version as in progress for a later time. A missing update on a supported platform may be a rollout or client-refresh issue rather than a separate purchase requirement.

The update introduces Abyss Link, lets each character reset skill progression independently, and adds eight new skills for Kliff. On first launch after the update, existing skill progression is reset and previously spent skill resources are refunded. Pearl Abyss also added a post-story option to carry Abyss Links and other in-game currency from an existing save into a new game.
